History of Ridley Feed Ingredients
"We have a lot of experience and are able to adapt quickly to a changing
marketplace." Amy Krueger, Quality Assurance Specialist
The Ridley Feed Ingredients plant in Mendota, Illinois, has provided nutrition products and programs to the producers of meat, milk and eggs for more than 40 years. First built as a commercial feed manufacturing plant by Swift® and Company, the plant was purchased by Continental Grain Company in 1970 and remodeled in the early 1980's as a premix blending facility. Over the years the plant has seen numerous improvements, including new batch mixers and the addition of a Form, Fill and Seal room. In 2000, Ridley Inc., one of the largest livestock and poultry feed manufacturers in North America, purchased the plant, and Ridley Feed Ingredients was born.
Located in the middle of America's Heartland, at the "corner" of two major U.S. interstates (U.S. 80 and U.S. 39), the plant is easily accessible. Ridley Feed Ingredients is operated by a group of dedicated employees that average more than 15 years of service, so all aspects of an order, from customer service to manufacturing and shipping, is done efficiently and accurately.
The Ridley Feed Ingredients plant is also the headquarters for Ridley Poultry Services. Today it provides premix to millions of U.S. hens.
Since 2003, RFI has expanded into Canada with the establishment of an office in Guelph, Ontario. RFI services the Canadian feed industry with micro premixes and feed ingredients.
Ridley Feed Ingredients has a bright future ahead. Thanks to Ridley Inc.'s size, and thus its purchasing power and expertise, we can offer our customers more competitively priced and resourced micro feed ingredients, vitamin and mineral premixes and feed additives. With its long history in livestock and poultry feed manufacturing, Ridley Feed Ingredients will continue to be a source of expert nutritional advice.
